Pazo Fine Art is pleased to announce the appointment of Mandy L. Cooper as the new Gallery Director. The appointment marks the gallery's ongoing expansion in its vision to work with emerging and mid-career artists and the presentation of Post-War art. Cooper will work alongside the gallery's founder, Luis Pazo, to strengthen the gallery's network of curators, collectors, and institutions.
Cooper, who previously worked as an independent curator and gallerist, received an MFA in Studio Art from American University in 2015. She founded Sense Gallery in 2018, a pop-up space in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington D.C., where she managed the programming of eight exhibitions featuring artists and curators from Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Her work as an artist and curator has received reviews in the Washington Post and NPR and has been featured in MILKED Magazine, among others.
"I am thrilled to join Pazo Fine Art and embark on a journey to contribute to its vision of elevating D.C.'s presence in the art scene. It's an honor to work alongside the exceptional artists and collectors of this region. I look forward to further leveraging my skills to amplify the gallery's impact. Together, we can continue to showcase the regional incredible artistic talent, putting it prominently on the map as a hub of creativity and innovation in the art world."
